About Karibamerica's Well Being Foundation, Inc.
Karibamerica's name is derived from Caribbean American; the idea was conceived in 2008. The goal was to join together different languages and cultures from all over through entertainment precisely music and poetry as therapy, to soothe the hurting, helping people overcome issues through the arts. Later in 2009 we felt the need to go further in our desires to help others in need, we have decided to help those with cancer and or other terminal illnesses with language barriers.
As the President, I have been in the field for over 17 years as of 2010, but the last three years I was more involve in MRI, CT SCAN, and PET/CT, dealing with heartfelt issues that plague our community. In 2008 I developed two products in Imaging Field, patents issued to offer comfort to Lumpectomy, Biopsy, Mastectomy patients. I myself had to deal with breast surgery at the tender age of sixteen years old and 1996. I lost my father in September 2006 of metastasized cancer in one week of discovery. So I experienced fear, and I understand what our cancer-stricken individuals and families go through every time.
I was pleased to be the founder of Karibamerica’s Well-Being Foundation Inc. May 13, 2009. This family friendly organization to which individuals as well as families can refer to when it comes to discussing and addressing any cancer or terminal illness-related issues and they won’t be misunderstood, because we want to help eliminate language barriers for non English speakers, so services will be available to them in their languages. We are willing to make a difference in the lives of those who’s been affected by cancer and their family, while we focus also on holistic strategies and methods.
That’s why we say we have extended “Our Caring Hand.”
